The piece in context
Released in 2015, Ancient Origins was a small set with an outsized reputation. Its full-art secret rares — Charizard chief among them — turned an otherwise routine XY release into one of the most sought-after displays of the decade.
Sealed product from the XY era was never hoarded the way modern sets are. Ten years of openings have left very few untouched European displays, and each one that surfaces is examined closely for resealing.
Original factory wrap with undisturbed crimps and no reseal indicators. Slight softening to two corners consistent with a decade of careful storage; printed panels bright with no fade.
XY-era sealed displays have moved decisively upward as supply dried up, with Ancient Origins leading the era on the strength of its Charizard.
